Teso King Papa Emormor Sande Emolot has called on monarchs across Africa to promote peace, cultural unity and regional integration, saying stronger ties among communities are essential for peaceful coexistence and cross-border development.
Speaking during celebrations to mark his fourth coronation anniversary at Achunet Stadium in Malaba, Busia County, the king highlighted the role of cultural institutions in uniting communities and strengthening relationships across national borders.
His call was supported by Ateker Ambassador John Munyes and Arthur Osiya, Principal Administrative Secretary in the Office of the President, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting cultural institutions and initiatives that promote inter-community relations.
Meanwhile, Busia Deputy Governor Arthur Odera and Nambale MP Geoffrey Mulanya urged communities to preserve and pass on their cultural values and traditions to younger generations. They noted that cultural education plays an important role in instilling discipline, good morals and respect among the youth.
