Nakuru Golf Club’s Roy Kandie delivered a memorable sporting moment at Royal Nairobi Golf Club, sinking a hole-in-one to win a 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace valued at KSh 4.5 million.
Kandie, who plays off a handicap of 17.6, used a rescue club to hole his tee shot on Hole No. 8 during his opening nine at the fourth edition of the Senator’s Swing Golf Series, hosted by Senator Allan Chesang.
The remarkable shot made him the first golfer to achieve a hole-in-one in the series, earning him a place in its history alongside the multimillion-shilling car prize sponsored by Carsoko / Carstore KE.
Royal Nairobi Golf Club celebrated Kandie as its “hole-in-one hero”, confirming that he had secured the Volkswagen with his spectacular shot.
A photograph shared by the club captured Kandie alongside Senator Chesang, club captain George Makori and Carsoko CEO Felix Limo, with the prize vehicle behind them.
The achievement became a standout highlight of the tournament, demonstrating how a single stroke can transform a golfer’s round into an unforgettable occasion.
Organisers thanked sponsors, partners, players and guests for supporting the fourth edition at Royal Nairobi Golf Club. The series heads to Kakamega on October 10, 2026.
For Kandie, the Royal Nairobi outing delivered a moment to treasure: one swing, a historic hole-in-one and a KSh 4.5 million car.
