KPC Volleyball Team booked their place in the final of the 26th Genocide Memorial Tournament after edging out Kepler Women Volleyball Club 3-2 in a thrilling semifinal clash.
The Kenyan side made a strong start to the contest, taking the opening set 25-17 and appearing on course for a comfortable victory.
However, Kepler responded impressively, claiming the second set 25-19 before edging the third set 25-22 to move within one set of reaching the final.
Facing elimination, KPC showcased the resilience and fighting spirit that has defined their campaign. The former African champions rallied to take the fourth set 25-21, forcing the match into a decisive fifth set.
With momentum firmly on their side, KPC dominated the final set, displaying composure and teamwork to secure a convincing 15-9 victory and complete a remarkable comeback.
The hard-fought win sends KPC into the tournament final as they continue their quest for silverware at the prestigious annual competition held in remembrance of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
KPC’s determination under pressure proved decisive as they overturned a 2-1 deficit to keep their title hopes alive.
