Baringo North MP Joseph Makilap Acquires Four School Buses Through NG-CDF

Baringo North Member of Parliament Joseph Makilap has acquired four brand-new school buses through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) in a move aimed at improving transport for learners across the constituency.

The four buses are scheduled to be officially handed over to the beneficiary schools on Friday, marking one of the constituency’s latest investments in the education sector.

The acquisition is expected to ease transport challenges faced by students during academic trips, sports competitions and other co-curricular activities, while reducing the financial burden on schools that previously relied on hiring buses.

School buses have increasingly become a priority for many institutions as they enhance learners’ safety, improve punctuality and support participation in educational and extracurricular programmes both within and outside their counties.

Makilap said the initiative reflects his commitment to improving learning conditions and ensuring schools have the infrastructure necessary to support quality education.

The buses were purchased through the NG-CDF, a fund that finances development projects at the constituency level, with education remaining one of its largest areas of investment.

Residents and education stakeholders have welcomed the initiative, saying improved transport will benefit thousands of students and help schools save operational costs over the long term.

The official handover ceremony on Friday is expected to bring together education officials, school administrators, parents and local leaders as the buses are formally presented to the beneficiary institutions
