EACC Arrests Two KRA Officials Over Alleged KSh3 Million Bribery Scheme

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested two Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officials over allegations of soliciting and receiving a bribe from a taxpayer in exchange for influencing a tax assessment matter.

The suspects, identified as Faith Gathoni Njoroge and Tyson Marango Owuor, are employees based at KRA’s Upper Hill offices in Nairobi.

According to the EACC, the arrests followed a complaint alleging that the two officials had demanded KSh3 million from a taxpayer to influence the resolution of a Capital Gains Tax assessment valued at KSh4.5 million.

Following the complaint, the Commission launched an operation to verify the allegations and apprehend the suspects.
