DCI Arrests Suspected Organised Crime Figure in Kamakis

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters have arrested a man described as a key suspect linked to organized criminal activities in Nairobi and its surrounding areas.

The suspect, identified as Peter Serenyi Ahonya, was apprehended during a targeted operation in the Kamakis area along the Eastern Bypass following what detectives described as actionable intelligence.

According to the DCI, officers conducted a precision raid that led to Ahonya’s arrest before escorting him to his vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz registration number KBN 160U, for further investigations.

A search of the vehicle reportedly led to the recovery of two rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition and eight sachets of cannabis sativa.

The recovered items were seized as exhibits as investigators continue with their probe into the suspect’s alleged criminal activities.

Authorities say Ahonya is currently in police custody undergoing processing ahead of his arraignment in court.

Detectives have also launched efforts to trace and arrest other suspects believed to be connected to the alleged criminal network.

The DCI said investigations remain ongoing as officers pursue additional leads aimed at dismantling the wider network and bringing all those involved to justice.

Further details are expected to emerge as investigations progress and the suspect is formally presented before court.
