A section of Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) from Busia County has raised serious concerns over a rising wave of insecurity in the border region, following a recent targeted shooting incident involving local politician and former Ford Kenya County Chairman, Emmanuel Osore.

According to Osore, the attack occurred along the Busia – Kisumu Highway, where armed men in pursuit had been trailing his vehicle. Osore claimed the suspects—armed with a firearm and machetes—appeared determined to intercept him in what he strongly believes was a politically motivated attack.
Leaders Demand Action and Political Tolerance
Speaking in Busia Town, the ward representatives – led by Mayenje Ward MCA Richard Okello—strongly condemned the ambush, highlighting it as a worrying trend that jeopardizes peace and safety across the county.
The leaders warned that the surge in violent attacks and politically linked intimidation threatens to paralyze the region with fear as the country approaches the 2027 General Election.
